And why!

Kinja'd!!!

Mine isn’t terribly exciting, I like mid-size luxury cars like the E-class, Lexus GS or Cadillac CTS the best. My logic is that these cars are usually different enough from the standard family car to warrant the price. Plus they usually have plenty of power with nice engine options and still can be fun to drive. If I was stuck with only class of car to purchase for the rest of my life, I’d be happiest with this.

Close second is sport compacts like the GTI, Focus ST or Civic Si. Nice and practical with plenty of power, but not too pricey.

Small pickup class. Does everything I need and nothing I don’t.

I don’t really have a fav class of car, but I do have a very big taste for things that are quirky.....(at least from a Canadian automotive point of view!)

To name a few likes in particular order...

FIAT 126
Classic FIAT 500
Modern FIAT 500
FIAT Topolino
FIAT 850
FIAT Barchetta
Citroen Traction Avant
Citroen DS
Citroen CX
Citroen 2CV
Citroen HY van
Suzuki Wagon R RR
Daihatsu Copen
Fiat Panda (all gens)
Autobianchi Bianchina
Autobianchi/Lancia Y10
Lancia Ypsilon (first-gen)
Daihatsu Fellow Max
Suzuki Fronte Coupe
Honda Life (first-gen)

.....well......yeah, I guess I like small, somewhat basic cars, especially classic ones...? :P

Personal luxury coupe. Right blend of style, elegance, and comfort, plus enough power to move when you need to.

It’s a look that says I’m fairly successful and stable in my career, I’m generally respectable, but also maybe a little bit sleazy.

Midsize sport coupes. Handle well, fast, fun, and often available with a manual. Also, my tall self often fits in them because coupes generally have a lot of legroom. I’ll classify midsize sport coupes as stuff like the Mustang, Camaro, Audi S5, and to a lesser extent, the BMW i8 (note these are just the ones I fit in).

My personal favorite is sport sedans, which is admittedly very vague. So. Maybe upscale compact? I don't love the current crop of cars, but some great cars have been upscale sport sedans, such as the original G35, the previous gen c class, most 3 series, the current Cadillac ATS and original CTS, and the original Lexus IS. Not to mention they all come in insane high performance models. So much variety!

It used to be FWD large cars (I know, the horror!) Mostly because they were the best used car values. But now, I’m 100% sure that midsized, 2 row CUVs/SUVs are the best vehicles in the world. You get enough cargo space to actually seat five and all their luggage. They are large enough to fit bikes on top, on back, or inside with the seats down.

They tow well enough, fit in garages. They have the widest array of engines and personality variations between physics defying handling, off road capability, or maximum urban beigeness. Think about how different the Jeep GC is with a V6, EcoDiesel, HEMI, Summit, or SRT.

Plus the feature content is great. There isn’t a bad midsize SUV from any brand, and all of them look damn decent. Plus a great used car value since after 4 years they are the same price as the entry level crossover from the same brand.

I too like sporty variants of compact sedans/hatches, especially 90's Euro and Japanese. Mondeo STs, Mazda 323 GTX, and all those crazy trims they made when the economy was good and rally was king. I like the slightly more than adequate power, slightly less than adequate interior space, and how easy they are to maneuver and park.

My favorite class of car is either the supermini or the city car. Easy parking, easy maneuverability, tidy dimensions. And I can put my accelerator to the floorboard without feeling (too) guilty. I like to have a working knowledge of my car’s dimensions so I can slip through dicey urban situations with mere inches to spare. Just this afternoon I was able to adjust my lane position without leaving my lane to get past an improperly parked hotel shuttle bus that was encroaching on my lane. And with my plastic body panels, I won’t feel too bad if someone else’s misstep turns a low-speed close call into a low-speed body rub.

Ye’, I thought you’d want one. Seat Leon SR Cupra 280.

Seat’s Leon ST Cupra 280 has become the fastest production estate to lap the Nürburgring Nordschleife – clocking a time of 7min 58.12sec, the Spanish car firm has revealed.

This lap time puts the Leon ST Cupra 280 ahead of such high performance cars as the 2007 Audi R8 V8 coupe (8min 4sec) and the Nissan Skyline R33 GT-R (7min 59sec). The front-wheel drive Leon ST Cupra 280 can accelerate from 0-62mph in 6.1sec and has a top speed of 155mph.

It’s powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged motor developing 276bhp at 5600-6500rpm and 258lb ft of torque from 1700-5600rpm.”

The Cupra 2.0TSi 290 is on sale starting at £31,430 (USD$45,334).
